The first open lecture of the "Urban Challenges" cycle will be given by Daniel Casas Valle on November 29, at 9:00 AM, in room T3 (DARQ), titled "Sport and Cities."
Daniel Casas Valle is an urbanist with extensive experience in urban planning, teaching, and research. He currently works on various urban design projects and planning studies at his office Urban Dynamics, with locations in Porto and Amsterdam. He is a researcher at MDT/CEAU/FAUP and director of the association The Future Design of Streets. His work spans multiple stages of planning, from the program of the commission to studies on specific topics such as "active and healthy space" or "street design and planning" for strategic spatial plans and urban design projects. Additionally, he regularly participates in presentations, workshops, publications, and debates. He holds a Master's degree in Urban Planning (Amsterdam, 2002) and completed his PhD at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto in 2018 (cum laude).
