Coimbra 30-2030: Colóquio internacional sobre a arquitetura e o espaço urbano da cidade - Livro de resumos

The city is, by nature, our place—the place where we have long established our roots, sought shelter, and built our social, economic, and cultural relationships. The life and image of the city are always shaped by both local and global circumstances of each era.

With this colloquium, we aim to outline the city of Coimbra through the lens of certain enduring elements that still reflect the various “reforms” shaped throughout its history. We will examine these transformations, situating them in time and space, with a focus on the city's architecture and some of its key figures—the architects. From the Roman presence to the contemporary era (30–2030), we will explore how architects in Coimbra have expressed, through their projects and works, the dreams of their time, leaving behind legacies for the future.
