Curar e Cuidar: Práticas de Reabilitação de Património Hospitalar do Séc. XX

This publication compiles a set of Master's dissertations in Architecture focused on the rehabilitation of Coimbra's hospital heritage, developed within the CuCa_RE – Curar e Cuidar_Reabilitar research project, coordinated by Professor Ana Tostões. These dissertations, presented and defended at the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra, provided a unique opportunity to deepen the study of restoration, rehabilitation, and the reuse of hospital heritage through architectural design.

The involvement of the Laboratory of Architectural Design – Architecture and Memory course in its 2018–2019 edition, dedicated to the development of design-based dissertations within the Integrated Master's in Architecture at the University of Coimbra, was essential to the completion of these works. This was achieved not only through didactic and tutorial support but also by hosting seminars, lectures, conferences, and critical review sessions.
