This is the first of a series of publications of Final Projects, considered of excellent quality, developed by graduating students. All of them are synthesis tests, guided by faculty members of the department, with topics chosen by the students themselves, always integrated into their scientific fields, ranging from theory or history of architecture to construction, design, or urbanism.
The present work originated from the need to study the nature and historical evolution of some buildings in the Alta de Coimbra, integrated into the area of the Competition for the Redevelopment Plan of the Spaces of the Colleges of S. Jerónimo, the Arts, the Chemical Laboratory, and the surrounding area, launched by the University of Coimbra, and whose results have already been the subject of publication.
