Insertions takes advantage of the opportunity brought by the construction of new infrastructure—the light rail system—to rethink the entire city of Coimbra, “establishing a positive tension with the existing city, potentially consolidating new or historic centralities.”
To this end, ten architects from various contexts were invited—including the Madrid-based duo Mansilla and Tuñón, the Brazilian team MMBB, and Eduardo Souto Moura—to design proposals for different urban areas of Coimbra.
