Design Studio IC

Between October 9 and 11, 2025, a field trip to Figueira da Foz took place as part of the curricular unit Atelier de Projeto IC of the Integrated Master’s in Architecture, taught by Pedro Maurício Borges. During the trip, students visited Morraceira Island, from the salt pans to the Doca dos Bacalhoeiros, and met with Jorge Aniceto, President of the São Pedro Parish Council, and Eurico Gonçalves from the iSurf school. They also consulted the Historical Archive and the Photographic Archive of the Municipality of Figueira da Foz. Guided by Carlos Gonçalves, a biologist at MareFoz, the students accessed the site where research is conducted on the adaptation of salt marsh plants to the rising mean sea level.
