October 2024 | Field trip to Pocinho
The field trip of the Atelier de Projeto ID course to Pocinho, which took place from October 8 to 11, is part of the theme for the exercise to be developed by students in the 2024/26 biennium, titled Rehabilitation of the Pocinho Railway Infrastructure. The trip began in Porto with a visit to the Ferreira Cellars and the Museum of the First Demarcation, continued through Régua, centered on the Douro Museum and Quinta do Vallado, and finally reached Pocinho, where students had their first contact with the spaces that will be the subject of study and rehabilitation design. In Pocinho, there was a meeting with the Vila Nova de Foz Côa executive, a partner in the development of this project, as well as with the Serra Henriques Foundation, with which a protocol was established for the project. The research developed in Atelier de Projeto ID, under the coordination of Guilherme Machado Vaz, is part of the activities of the Center for Architecture Studies — from Territory to Design (CeARQ-TD).
