Master in Cybersecurity Engineering

Presentation

The Master in Cybersecurity Engineering (MEC) aims to meet the demand of professionals in the field of Cybersecurity and the needs created by European directives and societal challenges related to the security and privacy of companies and citizens.

This course allows student’s to develop their skills in several cybersecurity topics, such as cryptography, privacy, secure communications and infrastructures, software security and risk management.

This master aims to accommodate students who are already in the job market and have significant professional experience (not less than 5 years), operating entirely in a distance learning regime, with a combination of synchronous classes (by videoconference) and asynchronous activities (guided study, laboratory work, case study analyses, group discussions, etc.) that will allow students to develop their skills autonomously. These learning processes will be supported by a remote learning platform.

MEC's main professional opportunities are public institutions, multinationals and medium and large companies in the national and international space, in the fields of ICT, telecommunications, consulting, banking and services – in which there is a great lack of professionals with Cybersecurity skills.

Curriculum Plan

The course lasts one year. The work to be developed by the student during that academic year, according to the indicative plan of the cycle of studies and on a full-time basis, corresponds to 60 ECTS.

SEE CURRICULUM PLAN

It should also be noted that the course may be attended on a part-time basis, thus allowing students to reduce the burden of effort by extending the duration of the course to 2 years.
