Phantom of the Universe
The Astronomical Observatory has signed an agreement with the Planetarium of Porto, through the Astronomy/Astrophysics Research Centre of the University of Porto, its managing body, and the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences to show new content at the Planetarium of the University of Coimbra. This Saturday 23rd, at 15h, the new session ‘Phantom of the Universe’ opens.
The planetarium session ‘Phantom of the Universe’ leads us in the search for mysterious dark matter, something that we know exists but which we not only cannot see but still do not know what it is. Let yourself be immersed in this film that takes us from protons in a particle accelerator to the Big Bang. A film born out of a collaboration between various research institutions, such as the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the University of Texas at Arlington, Michigan State University, the Institute of Corpuscular Physics at the University of Valencia and CERN, with translation and adaptation into Portuguese by Planetário do Porto and the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences.
Due to the Planetarium's capacity, prior registration is required by e-mail: visitas.oga.astro@fct.uc.pt
