SHARP 2026
The first conference of the European SHARP network, SHARP2026, will be held at the Hotel das Termas da Curia from 4 to 7 March. The European SHARP network (‘Structure and Spectroscopy of HAdrons Research Project’) is led by Portuguese physicist Catarina Quintans, brings together dozens of scientists from various European countries, and is funded by the European Union through a COST action. The aim of this European network is to establish collaborations between the various research groups in Europe dedicated to the study of hadron physics. Hadrons are subatomic particles made up of quarks and gluons that are subject to the strong interaction, one of the fundamental interactions of Nature. Protons and neutrons, for example, are hadrons and are made up of three quarks bound together by gluons. This conference will address topics such as the structure and dynamics of hadrons, with the aim of understanding how elementary particles (quarks and gluons) give rise to the visible matter of the Universe. The conference is organised by the NCBJ institute (Poland) in conjunction with several researchers from the universities of Aveiro, Coimbra and Lisbon and the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics (LIP), and is sponsored by the Municipality of Anadia.
