About the Program
What is the mentoring program?
The FEUC Mentoring Program is a development process for students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC), through mentoring by a former student of the Faculty with a recognized professional career.
What is its importance?
The Mentoring Program allows FEUC students to connect with alumni who have become successful professionals, giving them the opportunity to complement their academic training with a perspective from the professional world.
The collaboration of FEUC alumni in this project aims to promote the sharing of experiences between the parties, encourage students to seek new challenges, and provide access to support from a successful professional. The program gives students and alumni the opportunity to develop and learn together.
What will the relationship between mentor and mentee be like?
Each student participating in the program will be assigned a mentor (a FEUC alumnus with a recognized professional career) who will accompany them for a period of one year. With a network of alumni holding prominent positions around the world, current students will have access to the experience of professionals who have already been in their place and who have already followed a path that has allowed them to achieve the success they have today.
The relationship to be established will vary and will depend on each mentor and each mentee. Even varying in form, it presupposes an initial contact (through a personal meeting, by telephone, Skype or other means of communication) in which student and former student establish the rules they consider to be most beneficial for their relationship, namely the means to be used and the frequency of contact.
