Information on the CEFR and the hours of the Language Center Courses:
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), established by the Council of Europe, provides standards to describe language ability on a scale of six major levels from A1 to C2. The European languages courses offered by the Language Center at the University of Coimbra are organized according to the CEFR, and the number of contact hours needed to achieve each of the levels are indicated in the table below.
