Course Structure
FLUC offers broadband and interdisciplinary courses with an innovative teaching model that allows freedom of choice and autonomy in each study programme.
A curricular reform recognised by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in 2015, with the distinction of innovative projects in teaching.

5 curricular units from a scientific area other than the area of specialisation. If the 5 curricular units are chosen from the same course, they may constitute a minor. The application to Minors offered by the Faculty of Economics is subject to the places available. |
0 to 4 curricular units from any FLUC or UC course. Should the student wish to strengthen their specialisation area, they may waive the general education curricular units. |

Each semester has 5 curricular units (30 ECTS), which means that a student must enrol in 10 curricular units each year. It is strongly advised that students consult their tutors before registering. The 17 minors offered by FLUC are as follows: Archaeology – Information Science – Art Studies – Classical Studies – European Studies – Philosophy – Geography – History – Art History – Journalism and Communication – Modern Languages (German / Spanish / English / Italian / French) – Portuguese – Tourism, Territory and Heritage.

Each student must choose a tutor by the end of the second week of classes.
