CAPLE Exams
FLUC is a Location for Application and Promotion of Exams (LAPE) for the certification of Portuguese as a Foreign Language.
The Portuguese as a Foreign Language exams are created and assessed by the Centre of Assessment and Certification of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (CAPLE), which is a unit of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and a member of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).
Exams/Levels
The PLE exams assess skills corresponding to the levels of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The correspondence between the exams and the levels is as follows:

Tuition Fees
Registration for the exams includes the payment of tuition fees and a registration fee. The current tuition fees and registration fees are as follows:

Exam Registration
Each candidate may only register for one exam per exam period. Registration is subject to availability.
Candidates must complete the registration form, available online on the CAPLE website. Once registered, candidates are redirected to a payment page, where their registration is automatically validated. They will then receive a code that will allow them to access their exam results at a later date.
Registration for a PLE exam requires candidates to be familiar with the exam rules, which are available on the CAPLE website.

Results and Certificates/Diplomas
Exam results are published on the CAPLE website within a maximum of 20 working days from the date of receipt of the exams at CAPLE. To access their results, candidates must use the code received after confirmation of their registration.
Certificates or diplomas will be available at LAPE within 15 to 20 working days from the date of publication of the results. Certificates are delivered in person or sent to the candidate by post. If the candidate chooses the latter option, they must provide an A4 green or blue envelope on the day of the exam, already filled in with their name and postal address.
