Mission and Goals

Support scientific research in obtaining the necessary resources to achieve excellence in this activity, by bringing researchers and clinicians closer together, as well as through greater involvement in FMUC's strategy, based on a proactive and inclusive approach.

Strategic goals

  • Significantly increase the securing of research funding​
  • Integrate the GGI within the scientific community by establishing inclusive relationships with all its members and supporting the pursuit of funding for high-quality research​
  • Improve organizational performance, particularly in the area of communication​
  • Support the alignment between scientific output and healthcare delivery, namely by connecting GGI activities with the strategy of the Clinical Academic Centre (CAC)​
  • Support and foster technology transfer processes and the strengthening of relationships with industry​
  • Promote internationalization​

Activities of the GGI according to the Statutes of FMUC

  • Prospecting, identifying, selecting, and disseminating national and international opportunities for research funding and scientific and technological partnerships​
  • Supporting the preparation of funding applications​
  • Assisting in the search for national and international partners for Research and Development projects​
  • Facilitating interactions between faculty/researchers and funding or regulatory bodies​
  • Providing support to researchers in all project management activities carried out at FMUC​
  • Coordinating FMUC initiatives related to research grants and awards​
  • Coordinating scientific dissemination activities​
  • Compiling the annual inventory of FMUC scientific productivity indicators
