Inovar para CuidarINNOV2CARE – Inovar para Cuidar |
Abstract
The INNOV2CARE project, anchored in the central assumptions of promoting excellence in the provision of healthcare, aims to contribute to the modernization and suitability of care, which is increasingly mediated by digital and technological tools. Preparing current and future health professionals for the challenges that such mediation entails, both in technical terms and in terms of humanizing care, is therefore fundamental in this context. This project therefore envisages not only a readjustment in the way of teaching and learning in medicine and related areas (initial training), using simulation tools and new technological advances, but also a continuous readjustment and updating of the skills of health professionals in the face of rapid technological advances that have a strong impact on medical acts and on health organizations and teams. Under these assumptions, the INNOV2CARE project integrates a set of processes and initiatives to reform and modernize the training and practice of doctors and other health professionals. It is structured around two lines of action: the first is geared towards the technological literacy of students and health professionals and the transformation of teaching-learning environments, and the second focuses on creating conditions for accessibility and the promotion of global health. The second axis aims to develop, with the support of technological tools, a set of strategies that make it easier for students, teachers and professionals to access information, new technical developments and teaching resources, as well as initiatives aimed at contributing to health literacy among the population and building and sharing knowledge with health professionals from other regions of the world. In this way, the project also seeks to contribute to the realization of a global health goal, which is absolutely central in a context of mass migration and cross-contamination effects, which the recent pandemic situation has highlighted unequivocally. In cross-cutting terms, the INNOV2CARE project encompasses a concept of modernization, which is not limited to increasing technical training for the use of and adaptation to new technological and digital tools, but which also integrates quality dimensions associated with ethical reflection in technological contexts and humanization (conceiving technology as a means and not an end).
