VITAGE

Valorização de resíduos agrícolas em produtos anti-envelhecimento

VITAGE - Valorização de resíduos agrícolas em produtos anti-envelhecimento

Abstract

The VITAGE project aims to develop a dermal film containing an essential oil encapsulated in plant-derived extracellular vesicles obtained from agricultural residues. This approach not only contributes to the valorization of waste, promoting environmental sustainability, but also combats the effects of skin aging by delaying natural aging and preventing premature aging associated with factors such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, stress, and nutritional deficiencies. Previous results from the research team have demonstrated highly promising anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties of the selected essential oil, justifying further studies and investment. Thus, the VITAGE project emerges with a focus on development and valorization activities, integrating science, biotechnology, environmental awareness, and sustainable agricultural practices, with the aim of establishing the inner Central region as a reference for innovative natural products.
