
The article “Clinical and Histopathological Findings in Jalili Syndrome”, published in Ophthalmology Retina (American Academy of Ophthalmology), has been awarded the Best Translational Research Scientific Article Prize by the Unidade Local de Saúde de Coimbra (ULS de Coimbra).
This distinction recognizes the quality and impact of a collaborative work between the Ophthalmology Department at ULS de Coimbra and the Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research of Coimbra (iCBR), Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra (FMUC).
At the award ceremony, Maria Martins Franca accepted the distinction on behalf of the research team, which includes Joana Providência, Guilherme Castela, Francisco Ambrósio, and C. Henrique Alves, among others.
From the iCBR-FMUC research group, special acknowledgment goes to Henrique Alves, Francisco Ambrósio, Inês Sousa, and Daniela Patrício, co-authors of the study.
This marks the third consecutive year that the team has received the ULS de Coimbra award for best translational research article — a recognition that highlights the impact of close collaboration between clinical practice and basic science.
