Judy Paulo, researcher at the Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research (iCBR) and doctor at the Local Health Unit (ULS) in Coimbra, has been awarded the ULS Coimbra 2025 Translational Research Grant, in the category of Best Translational Research Project.
The awarded project, “MicroRNA133 in Cervical Cancer Tumor Vascularization: Predictive Biomarker of Response to Cytotoxic, Antiangiogenic and Immunotherapy Therapy”, aims to study the role of microRNA133 as a predictive biomarker of treatment response to cytotoxic, antiangiogenic, and immunotherapy drugs in cervical cancer.
The award was announced during the ULS Coimbra Day, in a ceremony held at the Congress Centre of the Coimbra University Hospitals. In addition to the scientific recognition, the €15,000 grant will support the development of the project over the next three years.
This distinction highlights the importance of translational research conducted at iCBR, bridging the gap between basic science and clinical practice, and underlines the valuable contribution of young researchers to healthcare innovation.
Congratulations to Dr. Judy Paulo and her team for this outstanding achievement!
