First Meeting of the Ethics Committee of GeneT

On September 25, 2025, the first meeting of the Ethics Committee of GeneT – Gene Therapy Center of Excellence was held online. The meeting was chaired by Professor Luís Pereira de Almeida, Coordinator of the GeneT project.
The following distinguished members of the Ethics Committee were present:
- Professor André Dias Pereira
- Professor Cláudia Cavadas
- Doctor Joana Namorado
- Professor Jorge Saraiva
- Professor Margarida Silvestre
During the meeting, the mission and objectives of the GeneT project were presented, along with the role of the Ethics Committee within its scope. Each member gave a brief personal introduction. It was agreed that administrative support should be present at the next meeting and that the Committee’s functions and its integration into GeneT’s organizational structure will be further explored.
