Gabriela Fernandes
Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Minho (2000). Master in Industrial Engineering with specialization in Project Management and Evaluation and Innovation from the same University (2004) and PhD in Management from the University of Southampton (2014). Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra, since 2019, in the area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She started her academic activity in 2010 at the University of Minho. Her research interests are Organizational Project Management and Innovation Management, particularly in the context of university-industry collaborations. She is (co)author of more than 100 scientific articles, including the book: "Managing Collaborative R&D Projects: Leveraging Open Innovation Knowledge-Flows for Co-Creation". She has 10 years of experience in industry, holding management positions in companies in various activity sectors. As a consultant she has coordinated the implementation of project management systems as well as Project Management Office (PMO) structures. She was promoter of the academic Spin-off PMInnovation and director of the PMI Portugal Chapter. She also performed PMO Quality Assurance duties in I&DT programs in collaboration between the University of Minho and Bosch Car Multimedia.
