Presentation
History
ICNAS is an organic research unit at the University of Coimbra, opened in May 2009. It is located in the Health Hub (Pole III) of the University of Coimbra. ICNAS filled a gap in Portugal's scientific/technological field in the production of new molecular markers and research in medical imaging.
Vision
ICNAS has a multidisciplinary nature and is a pioneer in several areas of medical imaging. It develops biomedical applications, ranging from basic sciences to pre-clinical and clinical sciences. ICNAS is a multidisciplinary research unit. He is a pioneer in:
•Acquisition and analysis of Molecular Medicine data
•Development of new molecular markers
•Cutting-edge research with multimodal imaging techniques
•Structural and functional medical imaging
•Translational Biomedical Research
Mission
It is an institute with a strong connection to basic research, developing skills and knowledge for a translational biomedical application, with great emphasis on Neurosciences and chronic diseases.
