The sixth session of the 2025 iiiUC Training - Research Support Tools is dedicated to Open/FAIR science and research data at UC: programmes, initiatives and examples. The training will be led by Inês Almeida, researcher in the project ERA Chair EXCELScIOR (Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology CNC-UC, CiBB) dedicated to meta-research, and currently implementing the institutional pilot project TREASURE:Transforming Research Assessment through Responsible Research training of Early Stage Researchers (IIIUC) and Pedro Caridade, Assistant Researcher at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra and at the Coimbra Chemistry Centre (CQC).

The session aims to:

  • Highlight programmes and initiatives under development at the University of Coimbra focused on learning by/for action, to support the normative adoption of responsible, reproducible, reusable and open research principles, practices and products.
  • Present the TREASURE institutional pilot project and the opt-in training programme being developed to formally support and reward master's and doctoral candidates from different areas for implementing diverse reproducible, reusable and open research practices in their research theses, focusing on their quality;
  • Refer to grassroots open science initiatives being developed at the University of Coimbra, namely the Open Science Community(ies) Coimbra and its role in complementing the hands-on training offer through sharing of knowledge between members with different levels of expertise.

This training will take place on July 22nd, 2025 at 2:30 pm.

This iiiUC event is online, in Portuguese and open to the entire University of Coimbra community.
