The seventh session of the 2025 iiiUC Training - Research Support Tools is dedicated to Preparing for a career in research: Funding opportunities, career planning and building a competitive CV. The training will be led by Isabel Q. Neves and Shiva Saadatian, Science Managers at the Strategic Areas Unit, University of Coimbra's Research Promotion and Management Service.

Launching a research career requires more than scientific excellence - it requires strategic planning, an understanding of funding opportunities, and the skills expected at each stage of the career. This session, organized by the UC Strategic Areas Unit, is aimed at doctoral students and early-career researchers and will explore the European funding landscape, helping you prepare an application and identify the schemes that best align with your career stage and research goals. Practical strategies for preparing a research career, building a competitive CV, and positioning oneself effectively for competitive applications will be discussed.

The 2026 Seed Projects competition will also be presented - an initiative at UC that aims to promote interdisciplinarity, scientific independence, and the development of leadership skills among early-career researchers.
