Advanced Course: Synapse Assembly, Function and Plasticity

This advanced course, developed by the Doctoral Programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine, provides an in-depth immersion into the world of synapses, the fundamental communication points of the nervous system. Through a multidisciplinary approach, it explores how synapses are formed, how they function, how they adapt, and how they contribute to both health and disease.

Designed for students interested in deepening their understanding of neuronal circuits, the course combines up-to-date theoretical content with an integrated view of the mechanisms that underpin brain function. It offers a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of how synapses shape behaviour, learning and pathology.
