The University of Coimbra (UC), through the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research (IIIUC), will present the five winning projects of the 5th edition of the Promotion of Scientific Culture initiative (which grants financial support to science communication activities of an interdisciplinary scientific and cultural nature), on 12 September at 3 p.m. at UC Exploratório - Centro Ciência Viva da Universidade de Coimbra. The event is open to the entire community.

The 5th edition of the Promotion of Scientific Culture initiative provides financial support for five activities/initiatives that promote dialogue between science and culture and disseminate the knowledge produced at the UC to audiences that are not strictly academic/scientific. In this edition, the amount of support per project/initiative has risen to 3000 euros.

Interdisciplinary and original activities promoted by teams of researchers belonging to at least two Research and Development (R&D) Units of the UC Group, from different scientific areas, are eligible. The team must include UC doctoral students and follow the principles of the UC Plan for Equality, Equity and Diversity 2019-2024, particularly concerning gender equality and diversity.

The public award ceremony to present the five winning projects feature remarks by the UC Vice-Rector for Research and Director of the UC Institute for Interdisciplinary Research, João Ramalho-Santos.
