Application and selection
Interested students and teachers must be of a different nationality to the country of destination of the mobility and be affiliated to the project's partner institutions.
Applications for the grant are made to the respective home institution. This institution is responsible for organising a public call and selecting the students/teachers who will take part in the mobility action.
The selection of participants (as well as the procedure for awarding grants) must be fair, transparent, coherent and documented, and the results must be made available to all parties involved in the selection process.
Each institution must take the necessary measures to prevent any conflict of interest in relation to persons who may be invited to participate in the participant selection process.
Students
The selection criteria - for example, the candidate's academic performance, previous mobility experiences, motivation, etc. - should be made public. The first selection criterion will be academic merit, but for equivalent academic levels, preference should be given to students from less favoured socio-economic backgrounds (including refugees, asylum seekers and migrants). Candidates who have already participated in mobility actions in the same study cycle under the Erasmus Programme will be given lower priority.
Teachers
The selection criteria (e.g. prioritising staff members who have never benefited from a period of mobility abroad, limiting the possible number of mobility activities per staff member over a given period of time, etc.) must be made public.
The selection of teachers will be carried out by the home institution on the basis of a draft programme of mobility activities submitted by the teachers after consulting the host institution.
After each student and teacher selection process, the home institutions send the ordered list of selected participants via email to the destination institutions, with a copy to the coordinating institution (CU) of the project: icm@uc.pt
Realising mobility
The project coordinating institution will contact each selected participant to inform them of the procedures for receiving the grant and carrying out the mobility, including completing the Erasmus teaching activity form (teachers) and/or completing applications, enrolment and registration for Erasmus studies or internships (students).
Each destination institution is free to request additional completion of its own registration/enrolment/enrolment forms for the students or teachers it will receive under the project.
It is the responsibility of each destination institution to guarantee the quality of the mobility period, as well as to provide the necessary information and support to students and teachers regarding practical and logistical information, namely about accommodation options, transport, cost of living, visas and other legal procedures, study and research facilities and resources, and local support services for students and teachers.
