At the second reception session for incoming mobility students, held in the second semester of the 2024/25 academic year, Rui Dinis was appointed as an Alumni Ambassador for the University of Coimbra (UC). A business administrator and CEO of an international consortium responsible for the construction of the new Medellín Metro line, Rui Dinis expressed his great satisfaction at being recognized by UC, an institution he considers fundamental to his personal and professional development.

With more than two decades of experience and a remarkable international career, Rui Dinis shared how UC played a key role in shaping his value system, highlighting how the university provided him with both technical knowledge and the emotional support that helped him explore the world. He praised UC's history, prestige, and unique charm, encouraging new students to embrace Coimbra with confidence and live the “Coimbra utopia.”

João Nuno Calvão da Silva, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Alumni at UC, emphasized that Rui Dinis is an exemplary former student who has elevated the university's reputation globally, particularly in the areas of language cooperation and law.

This semester, UC is welcoming more than 600 students, bringing the total number of incoming students for the 2024/25 academic year to 1900.
