International Cooperation
The University of Coimbra (UC), through its Central Coordination/DRI (International Relations Unit), implements various projects and activities in the field of international education and training. These initiatives primarily focus on mobility and are facilitated through a range of instruments, including the establishment of international cooperation agreements, as well as the preparation and participation in applications for programs, projects, and institutional networks with counterpart universities and other international entities relevant to the internationalization of the UC.
The DRI also disseminates and promotes scholarship programs, specifically aimed at faculty and researchers, offering opportunities for international collaboration between peers both within and outside Europe.
Additionally, the DRI supports activities involving faculty members, stemming from the University’s participation in cross-institutional cooperation networks directly overseen by the Rectorate, such as the Coimbra Group, AULP, GCUB, EUA, FORGES, the Utrecht Network, Sylff, and others.
Membership in thematic networks (university networks focused on specific scientific areas) and the participation of UC faculty members in such networks must be authorized by their respective Organizational Units or Research Centers. These entities are responsible for covering the costs and providing support to faculty members engaged in activities within those networks.
