[ Volunteers Needed ] Learning an "Alien" Language
Image: Vecteezy
At the LMD Laboratory, a study is underway focusing on how the brain processes linguistic structures of varying complexities.
Objective
There are some types of grammatical structures thought to be present only in human communication code (language), but not in animal communication code. We want to discover if there is a specific neural network underlying the processing of this particular type of structure.
Participation
Participation in this study includes two independent sessions:
- Session 1 (1 hour): learning the rules (grammar) of an "alien" language + listening exercise + small learning test;
- Session 2 (2 hours): review (listening) of the language + MRI scan + small final test.
We are looking for volunteers aged between 18 and 45 years old, and without contraindications for undergoing an MRI scan.
