Overview

The UC Advanced Optical Microscopy Laboratory (LMOA) is a Technological Platform of the University of Coimbra, that aims to provide unique optical microscopy services to all scientific community.

The LMOA-UC Platform is equipped with a confocal and multiphoton microscope, that allows for deeper imaging of thick tissues or whole animals. The LMOA provides access to cell culture infrastructures and to equipment for handling and maintenance of experimental animals, allowing to be independently accessed by internal or exernal researchers.

The LMOA-UC Platform integrates the UC Node into the national infrastructure PPBI – Portuguese Platform for BioImaging, which belongs to the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures of Strategic Interest, which in turn is a Node of the European “Euro-Bioimaging” network, which belongs to to the “Roadmap” of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI).
