Here is what you can do:
Required Documents
You must have with you the undermentioned documents:
- DGES Access Key : You may find it in the email that DGES sent to you along with the result of your application;
- Have you got a Portuguese Nationality? Identity Card/Citizen Card;
- Do you not have a Citizen Card? Present your Identity Card and your Tax ID Number;
- Are you a Citizen from a non EU member country? Residence Permit or Visa and a Declaration issued by the Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF), attesting that you live legally in Portugal for more than 2 years, uninterruptedly, on 1st January of the year in which you are admitted to the UC;
- Vaccination Record comprising the tetanus vaccine updated;
- Are you a Student at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (Bachelor’s Degree in Geography), Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy? Send to acessoaoensinosuperior@uc.pt the document attesting that you fulfil the required prerequisite;
Note: If you were admitted/placed in the Faculty of Medicine or the Faculty of Pharmacy, you cannot enrol online without sending previously this document.
Student Card
The UC Student Card identifies you in the UC Universe and is necessary to access the facilities of the University, such as canteens and medical and social services.
After completing your registration, the procedure leading to the production of the student card begins and you will be informed by email message when it is ready to be picked up at the Student Assistance Office of your Faculty or Department (if it is the Faculty of Sciences and Technology-FCTUC).
Therefore, be attentive because you will receive a message asking you to pick up this card, at a certain time and in a certain place. You will receive further information explaining how this access system functions.

This information does not exempt the students from checking the website and official information of DGES at http://www.dges.gov.pt, including the Ordinance no. 5260/2023 of 8th May - It approves the calendar for the National Contest of Access and Admission to Public Higher Education concerning the Enrolment and Registration for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
