The OAUC performs for the seventh time in a concert marking the opening of the academic year at the University of Coimbra. In this concert, the OAUC revisits the music of former UC student António Xavier Monteiro (1829–1906), a Law student who later entered the ecclesiastical life. Beyond being a prominent figure in Portuguese canon law, Monteiro was an accomplished composer, leaving behind an extensive body of work that includes both sacred and secular repertoire.
