22 april, 2025≈ 3 mins read

The DIAMAS project aims to support and advance the Diamond open access publishing model, with no charges for authors or readers. Lasting three years, it began in September 2022 and will conclude in August 2025. As the project approaches its conclusion, the consortium announces its Final Conference, entitled ‘The Future of Diamond Open Access Publishing in Europe and Beyond’. The event will take place on 3 June in Brussels, Belgium.

The conference will provide an opportunity to learn about the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in Diamond Open Access. Participants will liaise with experts, policy-makers and peers to explore innovative ideas for advancing scholarly communication. The event will be held in partnership with the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR) as host.

The DIAMAS project has made a significant contribution to establishing a high-quality, aligned, community-led, and sustainable scholarly communication ecosystem that aims to make open access the standard practice for publications across Europe.

The preliminary programme for the event is available at this link. Registration is free and open to all, but compulsory for all participants. There will be the option to attend the conference virtually via online streaming (details to be announced shortly).

The deadline for attending in person is 26 April.
