The iiIUC Trainings, held continuously by the UC Institute for Interdisciplinary Research since 2020, have just been included in the EOSC Association's catalogue of results. The activity is highlighted in the EOSC macro-roadmap as one of the partners' contributions, carried out at institutional level, which raises awareness of the importance of Open Science and facilitates institutional commitment to its universal practices.

The EOSC website also emphasises the promotion of best practices in data management, open access and public involvement through the repository, workshops and dissemination initiatives. The training programme is also presented as a way to support Open Science through the provision of resources, training and policies aligned with European and national recommendations.

Added value

The presentation of the iiiUC trainings in the EOSC macro-roadmap also points out aspects of their added value:

  • Opening up the sessions to the entire University of Coimbra community, with a focus on involving researchers, science managers and doctoral students.
  • Sharing information, promoting best practices and learning opportunities in key research areas.
  • Addressing topics that support academic growth, such as bibliometric databases, digital research tools, journal publishing and indexing.
