D. H. Machado was born in Lisbon in 1974. With a diverse academic background, he has degrees in Law (University of Law of Lisbon), Medicine (University of Medicine of Lisbon) and International Relations (New College, Oxford). Poet, playwright and novelist, he is the author of a dozen books that include poetry, theatre and narrative fiction. His literary voice is marked by depth and intellectual rigor. He is also publisher of The Poets and Dragons Society, through which he has actively contributed to the promotion of literature and culture. His work reflects a constant exploration of the limits of language, human emotions and great universal themes.
