 
JOÃO RASTEIRO – Coimbra, 1965. Graduated in Portuguese and Lusophone Studies from the University of Coimbra, he has published 23 books of poetry (Portugal, Spain and Brazil), from A Respiração das Vértebras (2001) to A Rose is a Rose is a Rose et Coetera (Spain, 2024) and Tarântula (2025). His work has been published in Portugal, Brazil and Mozambique and, in translation, in Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Finland, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, Mexico, the USA and India. His poetry is also included several anthologies of Portuguese poetry published abroad, including Corté la naranja en dos (Mexico, 2012), Voces de Portugal. Eleven poets of today (Spain, 2017) and 19 Poets from Portugal (Spain, 2021). In 2021, the anthology OFÍCIO. Poetry: 2000-2020 was published by Porto Editora, with a preface by the writer Mário Cláudio. Bruma Publications (PBBI-Fresno State – University of California) will publish in 2025, translated by Professor Diniz Borges, his work SARDOAL. In 2020, he also published a book of short stories, Governadores de Orvalho. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese PEN Club. He was awarded the following prizes: Manuel António Pina Literary Prize (2010), César Vallejo Prize (2020), Natália Correia Literary Prize (2023) and Ulysses Prize (2024).
