The Master in Creative Writing participated in the Paulo Quintela Lecture 2022 through the selection and reading of "Poems by Bertolt Brecht in translation by Paulo Quintela" by Andreia Mariano, Catarina Canas, Isabel Maia and Ninna Abreu. The lecture was given by João Maria André on October 12, 2022, at Teatro Paulo Quintela.
Evoking the legacy of its namesake, the Paulo Quintela Lecture is a moment in which the Department invites a renowned figure in intellectual life to question the meaning of a Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures today. Paulo Quintela's profile, as a professor of literature, but also a translator and stage director committed to the modernization of a Portuguese classic like Gil Vicente, covers many of the defining areas of the DLLC, from language to literature and culture, from classics to modern, from text to performance.
