Iron Achondrite Meteorite Slice

In 1913, a 161 kg rocky mass was found near Mount Edith in Western Australia. The meteorite was acquired by the Foote Company of Philadelphia (USA). It was then cut into slices, which were distributed to various museums.

The Science Museum of the University of Coimbra is one of these repositories, along with the Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago), the Australian Museum (Sydney), the Natural History Museum (London), the American Museum of Natural History (New York) and Harvard University (Cambridge, USA).
