TOGETHER FOR UC'S FUTURE!

A strategy is doomed to failure if not implemented properly. No matter how well designed, it will only succeed if it is implemented with people and for people. People are, therefore, the most valuable asset of the strategy adopted, and each individual plays an important role in its success. They must be heard, involved, valued, and informed.

Given the importance of involving and aligning people, a broad, transversal and multicultural participatory approach was implemented, targeting audiences identified within the University of Coimbra's Management System as stakeholders with high power and interest. In this context, specific sessions/moments were held for diagnosis, reflection and debate, encouraging a cross-cutting exchange of perspectives and ideas between members of the academic community and others who, although not part of it, interact with it. The 2023-2027 strategic planning process was once again an opportunity for reflection, challenge and the pursuit of excellence, bringing together the academic community, the city, the region and the country in a series of strategic reflection sessions under the motto 'Together for UC's Future'. These sessions collectively shaped a clearer vision of the future and the most effective way to achieve it.

The consultation process involved more than 2,200 participants in seven face-to-face sessions - dedicated to the academic community and external stakeholders -, a questionnaire-based consultation (UC Alumni) and various contributions received through other channels, including reports from the following committees of the General Council of the University of Coimbra.
