Jointly organised by the Quantum@UC group at the University of Coimbra and the Quantum Communications group in Aveiro.
Location: Auditorium Laginha Serafim, Dep. Civil Eng. , Rua Luís Reis Santos - Pólo II 3030-788 COIMBRA
Date: October 24, 2025
Registration:
- Free, but mandatory: registration form
- Registration deadline: October 17
Local organizing committee:
- Helena Vieira Alberto (Department of Physics, UC)
- Sagar Pratapsi (Department of Physics, UC)
- Jorge Lobo (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UC)
Contact: quantum@uc.pt
Main objectives:
- Promote interaction and collaboration among all Portuguese research groups working in Quantum Technologies
- Discuss the national strategy for the three pillars identified by the European Commission: Quantum Computing and Simulation; Quantum Communication and Quantum Sensors
- Identify and engage industry and potential end users
Key moments:
- Presentation of the national panorama of Quantum Technologies in Portugal through presentations on computing, communications, one on sensors, and one on education. In each presentation, the speaker presenting the summary will present slides provided by different groups in Portugal (one or two slides per group).
- Panel on Challenges and Potential of Quantum Technologies
- Poster presentations by different research groups during coffee and lunch breaks.
- As part of the "National Strategy for Emerging Technologies (ETE)" initiative promoted by PLANAPP, ANI, and FCT, there will be sequential sessions to discuss the national strategy for each of the three pillars of Quantum Technologies: Quantum Computing and Simulation, Quantum Communications, and Quantum Sensors.
