New Funded Project: RESIGNIFY
We are delighted to announce that the project RESIGNIFY – Resignify Urban Nature through Regenerative Planning, Emotions, and Narratives for Possible Futures has been approved for funding with the highest evaluation score under the 2023 Call for R&D Projects in All Scientific Domains.
With enormous potential and representing a further deepening of our research journey of over a decade, the project brings together the Centre for Functional Ecology – Science for People & the Planet, the Terra Associated Laboratory of the University of Coimbra and its extension at the Universidade Aberta of Portugal, in collaboration with LE@D – Laboratory of Distance Education and eLearning at the Universidade Aberta of Portugal.
The project aims to integrate regenerative design, emotions, imaginaries, and narratives of nature into urban planning practices, through a case study focused on the northern region of Portugal.
More than simply rethinking green spaces, RESIGNIFY proposes new perspectives on urban natures, recognising the plurality of landscapes, expressions of nature, and the sociocultural dynamics that shape cities.
