Our latest article, “Sea-level Rise Implications for Human Mobility: Policy Analysis for Morocco”, is now available in Current Developments in Carbon & Climate Law.

In this paper, Sofia Fernandes and Fátima Alves from the Centre for Functional Ecology – Science for People & the Planet, Laboratório Associado Terra at the University of Coimbra, and its Extension at the Universidade Aberta de Portugal, analyse how Morocco is recognising the impacts of sea-level rise. At the same time, public policies still fail to connect these risks with strategies for human mobility, territorial planning, or the protection of the most vulnerable communities.

This is an urgent and increasingly central topic for understanding the links between climate change, adaptation, and social justice.
