The funded projects currently underway under the Erasmus+ KA171 programme focus on academic and scientific mobility, while also providing support for research management and the implementation of fieldwork. This framework has enabled the development and consolidation of international partnerships, reflected in the publication of results and the organisation of scientific conferences such as Water Security and Development 2022 and 2025, and the Aqua, Territory and Sustainability 2025 conference (https://eventos.uab.pt/wsd22/; https://sites.uab.pt/wsd25/; https://sites.uab.pt/ats25/). In the short term, these dynamics are expected to converge towards the formal establishment of a research network dedicated to the themes of water, sustainability and development.
