CGA - Retirement Requests or Service Length Calculation

The Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) has created a new platform for requesting retirement, a process that requires greater participation from the subscriber, and which depends on the subscriber's authentication in CGA Direta. In order to apply for a retirement pension, subscribers must be registered with CGA Direta, as it is through this authenticated service that they will participate in the process.

The procedure is available here.

1. When you apply for retirement, you must submit the following documents

- A copy of your current identity card;

- If not included in the individual file, a copy of the military certificate;

- A bank statement with proof of account ownership;

- The subscriber's contact details - full address, mobile phone number and personal email address;

- Proof of contributions to other social protection schemes - such as social security;

Note: If you don't have this document, you should ask the relevant social security office to fill in the CGA12 form available at CGA Direta.

- Other documents that may be requested - after consulting the individual file - that may be deemed necessary for the management of the retirement process.

2. In the case of a request for the calculation of service time, the subscriber only needs to notify the Department of their intention and enclose the documents they consider relevant to the file.
