António Guterres

Born in Lisbon (1949), António Guterres spent the most part of his childhood in Donas, a village in the municipality of Fundão.
He graduated in Electrical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico in 1971.
Current candidate for UN Secretary-General, he was Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and held the position of UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) from June 15, 2005 to December 31, 2015.
