Detlev Ganten, President of the M8 Alliance and of the World Health Summit. FMUC underlines that Detlev Ganten, specialist in Pharmacology and Molecular Medicine and one of the world's leading authorities in the area of hypertension, "was a decisive ally" for the successful application of the CHUC / UC consortium for the integration into the M8 Alliance.
Professor Ganten's “enthusiastic support” was essential for the CHUC / UC consortium to be “unanimously admitted to the M8 Alliance, in a consecration of the excellence of the University of Coimbra and its international recognition in the area of Education and Health”, stresses the Faculty, adding that throughout the “demanding and complex process of applying for the M8 Alliance, Professor Ganten proved to be an exemplary friend of Portugal, Coimbra and its University, honouring the bilateral relations between Germany and Portugal and reinforcing them in the academic field at the highest level '.
