John Michael Newton

Born in Leigh, England on December 26, 1935, Professor John Michael Newton graduated in 1958 from the School of Pharmacy, University of London and received a doctorate from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom in 1962, and is a Senior Lecturer at Sunderland Technical College, Lecturer in Pharmacy at Manchester and Nottigham Universities, Professor of Pharmaceutics at Chelsea College, University of London and Profesor of Pharmaceutics and Head of Department of Pharmaceutics at The School of Pharmacy, University of London, position held until 2001. On that date he was awarded the distinction of Emeritus Professor of Pharmaceutics by the latter institution. Also since that date he is a Honorary Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University College of London.
