Agroecology European Partnership Call 2025 | Deadline: 17 Feb. 2025
Applications are currently open for the 2nd call for funding transnational R&I projects under the Agroecology Partnership (Accelerating Farming Systems Transition: Agroecology Living Labs and Research Infrastructures), with the theme “Integrating environmental, economic and social perspectives in assessing the performance of agroecology”.
The Agroecology European Partnership aims to fund R&I projects that focus on assessing the performance of agroecology in its various dimensions, compare agroecological performance with conventional practices and provide information for specific contexts and agroclimatic conditions.
Candidate projects should address at least one of the following topics:
- Determine and assess benefits/impacts and trade-offs of agroecology, and identify best practices;
- Transforming value chains and new business models to facilitate a transition to agroecology.
The application process consists of two stages: the submission of pre-proposals (1st phase) by 17 February 2025 (13:00, WET), and full proposals (2nd phase) by 9 July 2025 (13:00, WET). Only pre-proposals submitted in the 1st phase will be invited to submit full proposals in the 2nd phase.
The Portuguese institutions participating in the selected consortia will be funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). FCT will award a maximum of €250,000.00 for a consortium with Portuguese coordination and a maximum of €150,000.00 for a consortium with Portuguese participation. If a consortium includes more than one Portuguese institution, the funding must be shared between the participating institutions.
