Pre-Announcement: 2025 Clean Energy Transition Partnership Call | Deadline: 09 Oct.
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) is preparing to launch its fourth annual call for proposals, scheduled to open on 11 June 2025.
Established under Horizon Europe programme, the Clean Energy Transition European Partnership aims to accelerate the transition to clean energy and contribute to the goal of climate neutrality by 2050. The CETP call will support research and/or innovation projects led by transnational consortia, around the seven Transition Initiatives (TRIs).
In Portugal, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) is the national funding agency for this Call.
The 2025 CETP call consists of 10 Call Modules:
- CM2025-01: Multi-vector interactions between the integrated energy system and industrial frameworks
- CM2025-02: Energy system flexibility: renewables production, storage and system integration
- CM2025-03A (ROA): Advanced renewable energy (RE) technologies for power production
- CM2025-03B (IOA): Advanced renewable energy (RE) technologies for power production (this topic is not funded by FCT)
- CM2025-04: Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS)
- CM2025-05: Hydrogen and renewable fuels
- CM2025-06: Heating and cooling technologies
- CM2025-07: Integrated regional energy systems (this topic is not funded by FCT)
- CM2025-08: Integrated industrial energy systems (this topic is not funded by FCT)
- CM2025-09: Clean energy integration in the built environment
A project consortium must comprise at least three partners from different countries, including a minimum of two from EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
Applications are to be submitted in two stages: the submission of pre-proposals (1st phase) by 9 October 2025 (14:00 CEST), and full proposals (2nd phase) by 12 March 2026 (14:00 CET). Only consortia whose pre-proposals are selected in the 1st phase will be invited to submit full proposals in the 2nd phase.
FCT will provide funding of up to €200,000 for a consortium with Portuguese coordination, and up to €125,000 for a consortium with Portuguese participation.
